MANZA ONSEN
Gunma Manza_Onsen.jpg

The Mountain
Manza Onsen is located in Gunma precutre and is a traditional Japanese snow resort. This onsen resort is one of the highest onsen resorts in Japan as it is located at 1,760 meters above sea level. For this reason, the view from the open-air bath is outstanding. A feature of this onsen is the color of milky white. Renowned as a symbol of Manza Onsen, "Karabuki" jets volcanic gas containing steam from between the rocks. Due to the high altitude of 1,994 meters, Manza Onsen Ski Resort offers the lightest and driest powder snow in Japan's Northern Alps. The trails are mostly designed with beginner and intermediate skiers, but there are a number of fun features including a mini terrain park and a few non-groomed runs.

The location
The best way to get to Manza from Tokyo is to catch the Hokuriku Shinkansen to JR Karuizawa station. From Karuizawa station to Manza there is a free shuttle bus twice a day. There is also a public bus from Karuizawa station to Manza Onsen bus terminal. If you are arriving by public bus to the bus terminal, there is a connecting free shuttle from the bus terminal to Manza Prince Hotel. We will help you with the timetable.
